The Story Behind the Work
Hi, I’m Gretchen.
For much of my life, things didn’t come easily. While others could wing it, I had to prepare: studying harder, practicing longer, and earning my way forward. That work ethic became my edge and shaped how I approach problems today: with intention, discipline, and depth.
I grew up around entrepreneurship, but I never planned to start my own business. I was too risk-averse (or so I thought). I worked from a young age, played collegiate volleyball as a team captain, earned a master’s in public health, and followed a path I believed would lead to stability and impact.
What I discovered along the way was something more interesting.
Whether in healthcare, marketing, or sales, the work always came back to the same truth: clarity drives behavior. Information doesn’t change outcomes. How you communicate, align, and execute does.
That insight led me to storytelling, strategy, and eventually to the intersection of marketing, sales, operations, and AI. I became a StoryBrand Certified Guide, helped rebrand a prosthetics company that was later acquired, and spent years inside a marketing agency growing into sales leadership. Along the way, I helped drive over $10M in revenue by doing one thing consistently well: helping teams see what actually mattered, and act on it.
In early 2025, a cancer diagnosis in my family forced a pause. It clarified what success really means. Not just titles or paychecks. But time, presence, and impact.
Freemyer Ventures was born from that clarity.
After a decade in the workforce, I wanted to work with leaders who were tired of noise, jargon, and circular conversations. Leaders ready for real progress. Teams who don’t need more ideas, but need alignment, execution, and a clear path forward.
I help companies get unstuck. Not by adding more noise, but by cutting through it.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me hiking or walking with our two dogs, reading sci-fi or fantasy, cooking something I probably could have just bought, or rewatching Lord of the Rings, listening to Hans Zimmer or a worship playlist.
I feel most at home in the mountains, around animals, and in spaces that invite both stillness and momentum; which, in many ways, mirrors how I approach my work.
